BIOGRAPHY

Adrienne M. Ryan is a writer in Rockport, Maine. When she isn't glued to her laptop or feeding her omnivorous cinematic addiction, she can be found preparing for her latest half-marathon; earning back all the calories she burned during training with homemade carnitas and Bass Ale; or stretched out on the beach with her insanely handsome and charming husband.

Adrienne earned her BFA in creative writing from the University of Maine at Farmington in 2002. During her time there, she studied with local writers Patricia O'Donnell, Wesley McNair, and the late Alice Bloom (whose unapologetic flunking of Adrienne's first major project led to a much-needed awakening). Her earliest inspirations came from Joan Aiken (Nightbirds on Nantucket) and Roald Dahl (if you need an explanation for this one, you've stumbled upon the wrong page).

In fiction, Adrienne writes in the YA contemporary genre. When we're not in the midst of a global pandemic, you can find her musings on the latest film releases at midcoastscreenqueen.wordpress.com. Currently, she works as human resources manager for Brooks Trap Mill in the lovely and historic town of Thomaston.
